Not nice scamming parents out of $$$

October 17, 2026

Depending on the restaurant, your prepaid dinner might be a single hot dog, six chicken nuggets, or half a cup of mac and cheese. The "special" menu items we were given to choose from were just as underwhelming. Hotel breakfast options were limited to a bagel, premade eggs, ham, a banana, coffee, or French toast. There was no yogurt, no hard-boiled eggs, no pastries, and no vegetable options at all. For athletes who need real fuel to perform, that is simply not enough. Families are paying a premium for these meal plans, and the portions and variety do not come close to justifying the cost. Organizers should be upfront about what is included before collecting payment, and they should offer meals that actually support competing athletes. I would not recommend relying on the prepaid meals. Bring your own snacks and plan on eating elsewhere.
